I graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in Family, Youth and Community Sciences (minor in Business Administration) in 2008. It was a great time to be a Gator, with our school at the top of academics in the United States and back-to-back championships in football and basketball. I saw them all first-hand as part of the marching and traveling bands and met my future husband during our band practices. Then came graduation. To say it was a tough year to start job hunting is an understatement.
I secured a job in a real estate law firm and title company as a Customer Service Supervisor for over 15,000 foreclosure files. After 8 years in the industry, I decided I wanted a change. I employed a career counselor and told her I had always been drawn to my accounting and finance classes.
A few months later, I headed to an informational interview at United Capital. I fell in love with the company culture of dedication to our clients and achieving their financial goals through a holistic view of their life. I quickly accepted the position of Administrative Manager and have never looked back.
Since that first day six years ago, I have changed positions within the office from scheduling meetings to attending them as a Relationship Manager focusing on Financial Planning. I love being a part of the financial planning process. My favorite part of client meetings is when our advisors can visually show our clients, through our financial planning software, that they can live their dreams with financial security.
During this journey to my current position, I married my college sweetheart, Keith, in 2012 and we welcomed two beautiful girls, Elizabeth and Victoria, into the world. When I have spare time, which is not often in this season of my life, I enjoy photography, gardening, sewing costumes, and hiking.
The importance of work-life balance in our office and the support of my co-workers allows me the dream of having both a career in a field that I love and being a wife and mom highly involved in my family’s home and school lives. I feel fortunate to be able to work with such an amazing team. I look forward to growing my career at Osaic Advisors and helping our team support our clients for many years to come.
