Diego Morcillo

My personal story is perhaps a little out of the ordinary. When I was 16, I left my parents’ home in Patagonia to live in Buenos Aires where I was accepted into the professional soccer development program of Gymnasia y Esgrima La Plata. This set me on a path to try to become a professional soccer player, playing 4 years in Buenos Aires and 1 year in Andorra FC in Europe. After those wonderful years of development and growth, I decided to come to the United States to get the college degree I had postponed, and why not play a little soccer while in college. With Richland College in Dallas, we won 2 NJCAA national titles in ‘06 and ’07. Then I finished my studies at Dallas Baptist University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in finance. During my last year at DBU I did an internship with a financial advisory firm that then hired me permanently, and since then I have been in this industry working in many positions, serving various advisors and learning from all of them.

I have been married for over 16 years to my sweet and beautiful wife Alicia, and together we are raising our 4 children, Diego, Julia, Leandro, and Nicolas.

In 2019, I had the blessing of coming to Neal and Michael’s team, and since then my personal and work life have improved tremendously. It is amazing to see how comprehensive planning can make such a difference in a family’s life and how it does not only impact their current situation but the lives of future generations.

In my spare time, I enjoy working around the house on all my plants and fruit trees. I also love spending time with my family, going to church together, traveling, going to the beach, zoo, museums and natural reserves. I try to stay active playing soccer with friends regularly and enjoy watching my kids in their various sports and activities.
